I agree with Imma M except you don’t put cilantro on a traditional bruschetta……but everything else sounds good….except when the bread comes out of the oven…rub the fresh garlic right on the hot bread first…it melts like butter on the hot bread!!!then add the rest!!!!!

I would stay away from a cream soup, since you are making an alfredo sauce. A vegetable soup would be good. For the pasta…broccoli & shrimp or chicken. Pair it with some steamed asparagus on the side & some crusty bread (then you don’t even need the soup).

Well with the pasta I would toss in some frozen peas and top with grilled chicken breast.
For the soup I would go with a broth based soup since you’re having pasta for dinner. Maybe vegetable soup, or instead of chicken on the pasta, make a chicken and spinach soup.

Boycott China’s produce? It’s impossible! Almost everything you lay your hands on was made somewhere in China, from plastic cups to children’s toys. Keep in mind that although China is the biggest polluter of the world, it is also the biggest and most populated in the world.

First of all, China already has a policy limiting to 1 child per couple. China is such a populated country it would not be expected of them to be such a clean, unpolluted country. Keep in mind, the US is also a major polluter as well.
And to boycott all goods made in China would be extremely difficult, considering that most items are Made in China due to cheap labor there.

the computer that you are using right now probably has some parts that are made in China, and the food you eat, the car you drive, chinese products are everywhere, you can’t possibly avoid them

bacon pieces in alfredo are heavenly, mushrooms are good too but not as heavenly, you cant go wrong with grilled chicken breast either, for a soup, i would go with a really light veggie soup, to set up for the creaminess of the pasta, even tomato soup i think would taste yummy

I don’t agree that we should boycott China’s good purely on the basis of how much pollution China produces.
Firstly, you have to consider the population of China and how dense it is. Though China is seemingly producing high levels of pollution, compared to other less denely popluated countries such as Australia (I am Australian, by the way and mean no offence to Australians), who produce more pollution per capita.
Secondly, the market in China is huge. Goods made in China dominate as their low cost labour, huge range and rate of, speedy production rate and competiveness continue to remain a challenge to beat. It’s uncommon to be able to buy a product that doesn’t contain something from China, be it labour or raw material. By boycotting China’s goods, you’d have a very limited range of goods to choose from in which to buy.
Third and finally, you must understand that China is essentially a two tiered country. That is, you’re either well off (as in very rich), or you are a poor worker. Many people can say that the whole of China must be rich, due to it’s market, but that’s way off. It’s only minority who are rich, and those are the buisnessmen who are behind the market and take control of it. The vast majority must rely on the industry that those buinessmen have set up just to earn money to buy their daily essentials. Many people know about China’s low cost labour. Thus, we should also understand how little they are earning, and how grateful they are for that bit that they can earn in hope that they can break of of the poverty cycle they are caught in. If we boycott China’s goods, we are essentially ruining the lives of those needy poeple.
I’m sure that there are many thoughtful people here, and it is very well and fair to want to assist reducing the amount of pollution we have in our world. -I understand and respect the resons why you’d want to boycott China’s products. However, by now you should understand it’s not just a surface thing. Before deciding what action should be taken to reduce pollution emmisions (and that goes for anything) , it is essential to consider what effects it will have in as many different aspects as possible. There are many other ways to ’save the world’ that we should consider, other than boycott China’s products, such as carbon trading for instance. I’m sure that a quick seach will come up with many good sites that will inform you of many more.

china has now double the US in armed forces. Personally, I think we want them on our side…we should be being extremely nice to them…on top of that, they have great food, who doesn’t like chinese food…mmm

I would pair it with broc soup. As far as the pasta goes, put in a tbs of oil in the noodles as they are boiling, the noodles wont stick as much.
